ZAKYNTHOS  GREECE

Arts & Culture Workshop

Zakynthos, Greece 8 days and nights May 25

Join us on an Art and Culture Workshop on the beautiful Ionian island of Zakynthos, Greece

Zakynthos is an island in the Ionian Sea known for its beautiful turquoise waters, the famed 1980 shipwreck resting in a sandy cove framed by cliffs, numerous “blue caves” and spectacular rock formations.  The surrounding countryside is differentiated from the better known Cyclades islands by its lush vegetation and coniferous trees. One finds olives, currants, grapes and citrus fruit throughout the island. Zakynthos is an idyllic setting to create art as one is completely immersed in beauty.

The workshop will focus on art as it relates to the island under the instruction of Helga Schleeh, a highly accomplished artist and art professor. Our goal is also to provide the participants with exposure to the local culture.  Thus, we have developed an itinerary that will offer the quintessential Zakynthos experience – visits to the Blue Caves in Limni Keri and Zante town to explore the city and its Byzantine Museum. We will sketch the local sights, view the famous ship wreck from the cliffs above and take a sunset hike all while enjoying several restaurants with local Greek cuisine.

We will be staying at the Lithalona Villas and Homes during our 8-night stay and are fortunate to have exclusive use of the estate including its private pebble beach and beautifully landscaped grounds with olive trees dating back 1500 years.

The property is comprised of three villas and three homes.  The villas includes a master bedroom with a private bath as well as a studio level below with a single bed, open to the kitchen and with a private bath. The houses have twin beds with a shared bath.     All accommodations have a private outdoor terrace  with an ocean view. The owners of Lithalona, Dimitra Malea and Nico Mitsakis, live in a home on the estate and will be there to ensure that all guests are well taken care of during their stay. For more details, please visit: Lithalona Accommodations

The workshop and trip cost includes all art instruction, accommodations (based upon double occupancy), meals (with the exception of all beverages and lunch on your free day), all excursions and transportation to planned events throughout your stay via Mercedes minivan.

Space is limited to 10-to-12 people so we encourage you to book as soon as possible.

Some art experience will be necessary to fully enjoy the instruction. The total cost will be between CAD $4,500-$5,000 per person (excluding airfare and art supplies).  The final cost will be communicated to interested parties by the end of year once we have the final number of guests and have confirmed pricing with our suppliers.
